SUPERHUB

A meticulously engineered digital hub for an uncompromising streaming experience.

The Audiobyte Superhub represents a fundamental shift in how digital audio is handled before it ever reaches a digital-to-analogue converter. Far beyond a simple network player, it is designed as a comprehensive digital hub that intercepts, reclocks, and aggressively purifies every digital source in your system. By sidestepping the noisy environments of off-the-shelf computer components, it provides an unshakeable foundation for high-end digital playback. At the core of the Superhub is a proprietary audio engine built upon a powerful AMD ZYNQ 7000 Series System-on-Chip. Rather than relying on generic streaming modules, Audiobyte developed a custom lightweight Linux operating system alongside highly advanced field-programmable gate array (FPGA) hardware. This allows the unit to perform complex upsampling and transcoding entirely in the digital domain, bypassing the need for a bulky, electrically noisy PC in your listening room. Sonically, the Superhub delivers a stark, dead-silent background that allows micro-details to emerge with startling clarity. By virtually eliminating incoming jitter and isolating the network interface, it brings a sense of analogue fluidity to digital sources. The presentation is distinctly continuous and resolving, allowing any connected DAC to perform at its absolute theoretical peak.

Key Features

01

FPGA-Based Audio Engine

Powered by a custom-coded AMD ZYNQ System-on-Chip, delivering immense processing power for real-time upsampling and seamless digital signal conditioning without standard computer noise.

02

Advanced Jitter Elimination

Utilises proprietary digital phase-locked loops (PLLs) and extensive buffering to aggressively reduce incoming jitter by up to -60 dB across all traditional digital inputs.

03

Native I2S Output

Transmits perfectly timed, ultra-high-bandwidth digital audio directly to compatible outboard DACs via a dedicated HDMI connection for ultimate signal integrity.

04

10-Layer Custom PCB

Engineered completely in-house with optimized signal routing, supported by a heavy-duty linear power supply for absolute electrical stability and silence.

05

Broad Protocol Support

Seamlessly integrates with Roon, UPnP, DLNA, and OpenHome, whilst supporting major streaming services and local network storage integration.

Chapter 01

Design & Philosophy

The Superhub was born from the understanding that a DAC is only as good as the signal it receives. Audiobyte sought to replace the traditional, often compromised computer-based streaming chains with a singular, purist device. By developing both the hardware and the underlying Linux operating system from the ground up, they created a perfectly tailored environment dedicated solely to audio processing, free from the background tasks and electrical interference that plague conventional streamers.

Chapter 02

Build & Materials

To mirror the sophistication of its internal architecture, the Superhub is housed in a chassis milled from a single solid block of premium aluminium. This construction provides exceptional structural rigidity, superior passive cooling, and crucial resistance to mechanical vibration. The chassis undergoes a rigorous sandblasting and anodising process, resulting in a flawless matte finish. A high-contrast, three-inch IPS touchscreen sits seamlessly on the fascia, offering intuitive local control without compromising the minimalist aesthetic.

Chapter 03

Sonic Signature

Adding the Superhub to a high-resolution system fundamentally alters the perception of digital audio. By stripping away timing errors and high-frequency noise before the conversion stage, the resulting sound is startlingly natural. Listeners frequently note an expansion of the soundstage, a firmer grip on low-frequency transients, and an overwhelming sense of ease that makes extended listening sessions entirely fatigue-free. It does not impose a character of its own; rather, it removes the digital artifacts that obscure the music.
