Design Philosophy

The Hyperspace follows the late Tom Fletcher’s vision of liberating the music from resonance-prone enclosures. By rejecting boxy plinths in favour of a decoupled, high-mass layered construction, the deck acts as a passive filter against unwanted energy. Every element is chosen for its acoustic compatibility, creating a system that behaves as a single, harmonious unit rather than a collection of parts. The use of a low-torque motor is essential to this design, treating the platter as a flywheel. Once pushed to speed by hand, the motor performs the singular task of maintenance, avoiding the mechanical interference inherent in high-torque systems and letting the natural momentum carry the performance.
