Concero 65 Reference

A monumental sixty-five watt single-ended triode monoblock built without compromise.

Single-ended triode amplifiers are celebrated for their emotive midrange and holographic presentation, yet they often struggle to control demanding loudspeakers. The Aries Cerat Concero 65 Reference comprehensively solves this limitation. By harnessing the immense capabilities of the 813 transmission tube in a parallel configuration, it scales the SET topology to monumental proportions, delivering 65 watts of unshakeable power without sacrificing an ounce of timbral accuracy. Functioning as the foundation of the elite Concero 65 series, the Reference model essentially houses two complete amplifiers within its colossal chassis. The driver stage alone, built around an 814 directly heated tube, is capable of delivering 14 watts. This operates as a miniature SET amplifier entirely dedicated to driving the parallel 813 output stage through a massive custom inter-stage transformer. Power delivery is managed by a monumental 1,800VA transformer and proprietary film SuperCapacitors, providing 2,000 joules of near-instantaneous energy storage. Sonically, the Concero 65 Reference bridges two distinct worlds. It offers the liquid midrange, treble purity, and organic decay that purists demand from single-ended designs, yet it attacks complex transients with explosive speed and iron-fisted bass control. It scales effortlessly from delicate acoustic passages to thunderous orchestral crescendos, providing an intensely physical and utterly captivating listening experience.

Key Features

01

Parallel 813 Output Stage

Uses a parallel pair of RCA 813 tubes, offering profound linearity and sonic purity that surpasses conventional audio triodes whilst delivering 65 watts of Class A output.

02

Dedicated 814 Driver Stage

The driver circuit functions as an independent 14-watt single-ended amplifier. Built around the 814 directly heated tube, it guarantees the 813 output stage is driven with absolute authority.

03

SuperCapacitor Power Supply

The driver and output power supplies are independent and utilise proprietary film SuperCapacitors. These feature an equivalent series resistance 100 times lower than electrolytics, enabling immense current delivery.

04

Triple-Filtered Filaments

Because directly heated tubes place the filament in the signal loop, the amplifier employs triple PI filters with 700,000 microfarads of total capacitance to ensure a completely noise-free current.

05

Zero Signal Capacitors

Signal transfer is managed entirely by high-quality inter-stage and output transformers with massive cores, meaning there are absolutely no capacitors in the signal path.

06

On-The-Fly Biasing

Custom biasing circuits paired with built-in digital monitors allow users to adjust the bias for both driver and output tubes seamlessly while music is playing.

Design & Philosophy

Chapter 01

Design & Philosophy

The Concero 65 Reference was engineered to address a fundamental compromise in audio amplification: the trade-off between the timbral purity of single-ended triodes and the sheer power required to drive real-world loudspeakers. By utilising massive RCA 813 transmission tubes in a parallel single-ended configuration, Aries Cerat delivers the liquid midrange of a SET design backed by the dynamic authority of a colossal 65-watt output. To ensure this immense output stage is driven linearly, the amplifier abandons conventional driver tubes. Instead, it employs an RCA 814 directly heated pentode, effectively housing a dedicated 14-watt SET amplifier simply to drive the final stage. Coupled via an oversized inter-stage transformer, this architecture completely eliminates capacitors from the signal path, preserving the fragile phase and harmonic information of the source.
Power & Magnetics

Chapter 02

Power & Magnetics

An amplifier of this scale is entirely dependent on its power supply and magnetics. The Concero 65 Reference features an uncompromising 1,800VA transformer alongside independent choke-filtered supplies for both the driver and output stages. Energy storage is handled by proprietary film SuperCapacitors, which provide 2,000 joules of instantaneous power delivery with an internal resistance vastly lower than standard electrolytic designs. Furthermore, because the amplifier utilises directly heated tubes, the filament supplies are hyper-critical to the noise floor. Aries Cerat addresses this by deploying triple PI filters with a staggering 700,000 microfarads of capacitance. This ensures the filament current remains completely free of ripple and noise, resulting in an exceptionally dark background.
Sonic Signature

Chapter 03

Sonic Signature

The Concero 65 Reference redefines what is expected from a single-ended triode amplifier. While it retains the intensely emotional presentation, tonal density, and three-dimensional soundstage inherent to the topology, it refuses to obscure the music with sluggish bass or dynamic compression. With 65 watts of pure Class A power and lightning-fast energy reserves, the amplifier exhibits immense speed and absolute control over the lowest frequencies. It effortlessly resolves complex orchestral passages and thunderous transients, delivering a highly transparent, viscerally engaging performance that firmly anchors the listener to the musical event.
