Lynx MK2

Compact Italian bookshelf monitors engineered for expansive and natural acoustic performance.

The Lynx MK2 captures the essence of Chario's acoustic philosophy in a form factor perfectly suited for smaller listening rooms. As the most accessible entry point to the Constellation MK2 line, it maintains the series' core commitment to tonal neutrality and artisanal quality, ensuring that the listener experiences a detailed, uncoloured performance that defies its physical stature. Positioned as a versatile bookshelf monitor, the Lynx MK2 utilises a sophisticated two-way design that is optimised for near-wall placement. By integrating a downward-firing port, the speaker manages low-frequency energy to interact harmoniously with the room, providing a sense of weight and depth that is rare for a loudspeaker of this displacement. The sonic character is refined and engaging, featuring a seamless integration between the T38 waveguide tweeter and the dedicated woofer. This results in a clear, open midrange and extended, natural high frequencies, allowing the speaker to reveal the nuances of acoustic music while maintaining the robustness required for more dynamic modern recordings.

Key Features

01

NRS down-firing system

The downward-facing port uses the floor or shelf surface to load the bass, enhancing low-frequency extension without creating audible turbulence.

02

T38 waveguide tweeter

A 38mm soft-dome tweeter featuring a wide dispersion pattern, designed to integrate smoothly with the mid-bass driver for a seamless crossover.

03

Solid walnut side panels

Hand-crafted side panels made from aged Italian walnut, selected for their structural rigidity and natural damping capabilities.

04

Precision 2-way crossover

A carefully tuned network that prioritises phase coherence, ensuring a stable and realistic image across the entire soundstage.

Chapter 01

Design & Philosophy

The Lynx MK2 is built on the belief that a compact speaker should not force the listener to compromise on scale or dynamics. By managing how the cabinet interacts with the room, Chario creates a speaker that feels entirely at home in a variety of environments, from dedicated desktop setups to bookshelf-based living room systems.

Chapter 02

Build & Materials

Every Lynx MK2 is constructed in Italy, featuring a chassis composed of high-density fibreboard and solid walnut. The walnut is aged specifically to achieve stability, ensuring the enclosure remains inert and vibration-free. This artisanal approach, combined with modern acoustic measurements, guarantees that each pair meets the brand's stringent standards for both durability and performance.

Chapter 03

Listening Notes

The speaker is characterised by its ability to disappear, leaving only the music. It is particularly adept at reproducing the delicate timbres of stringed instruments and the subtle textures of human vocals, providing an intimacy that is both revealing and fatigue-free. It offers a transparent window into the recording, inviting the listener to explore their collection with renewed clarity.
