Pegasus MK2
Italian artisanal mastery providing authentic sound for the modern domestic environment.
The Pegasus MK2 stands as a masterpiece of Chario’s Constellation series, balancing the strength of a mythical namesake with the delicacy of fine Italian artistry. By integrating a forward-firing woofer and tweeter with a discreet, downward-firing subwoofer, this floorstanding tower achieves an authoritative presence that brings depth and scale to any musical genre.
Positioned as the primary floorstanding model in the Constellation MK2 line, the Pegasus is engineered to master the challenges of real-world living spaces. Its proprietary Near Reflective Surface (NRS) technology leverages the proximity of the floor to enhance bass efficiency, ensuring that the low-frequency performance remains taut, clean, and entirely free from the turbulence often found in traditional designs.
The sonic character is defined by its expansive 360-degree soundstage and effortless tonal balance. With a wide dispersion pattern and a seamless Linkwitz-Riley 4th-order crossover, the Pegasus MK2 presents a holographic, three-dimensional image that allows the listener to connect deeply with the music, revealing layers of detail that remain fatigue-free even during extended listening sessions.
Key Features
01
NRS down-firing technology
Uses floor reflections to double bass efficiency and halve diaphragm displacement, resulting in deeper, cleaner, and lower-distortion bass.
02
T38 waveguide tweeter
An oversized 38mm soft-dome tweeter featuring a 60-degree dispersion angle for precise, natural, and fatigue-free high-frequency reproduction.
03
Paper-compound drivers
Three high-performance 170mm drivers designed for maximum rigidity and piston-like movement across the entire frequency spectrum.
04
Solid walnut cabinetry
Hand-assembled Italian walnut side panels provide a mass-loaded, inert enclosure that effectively eliminates unwanted cabinet resonances.
Chapter 01
Design & Philosophy
The Pegasus MK2 is rooted in the belief that true high-fidelity audio should adapt to the listener's home, rather than forcing the home to adapt to the equipment. By calculating the interaction between the drivers and the listening environment at the design stage, Chario ensures a consistent, natural output that remains balanced even in rooms with challenging acoustics.
Chapter 02
Manufacturing Process
Each speaker is handcrafted in Chario's Italian production facilities. The construction process is meticulous, requiring six months of treatment for the wood components alone to ensure long-term structural stability. This artisanal dedication, combined with high-density fibreboard (HDF) reinforcement, results in a cabinet that is as visually stunning as it is acoustically neutral.
Chapter 03
Sonic Signature
The Pegasus MK2 is renowned for its ability to project a massive, stable soundstage while maintaining the intimate textures of a solo vocal performance. It provides a muscular foundation that handles complex orchestral scores with ease, while the refined waveguide ensures that high-frequency detail is always portrayed with silky, lifelike precision.
