ARIA

The flagship 5-way floorstander regularising the audio spectrum for flawless room integration.

The Chario Aria functions as a masterclass in full-scale acoustic structural engineering, effortlessly moving beyond the acoustic constraints of typical domestic living spaces. It presents a magnificent architectural silhouette, defined by a dual-enclosure cabinet that completely separates sub-bass energy from critical mid-high frequencies. Its massive, curves-and-slats physical presence remains completely free from artificial resonances, asserting an absolute structural authority. As the crowning flagship achievement within Chario's mid-tier Aviator series, the Aria scales up complex multi-driver configurations into an uncompromised five-way layout. Rather than relying on rigid, traditional crossover filters, it introduces carefully calculated overlapping acoustic ranges. This sophisticated approach balances driver thermal compression while isolating mechanical energy through an advanced internal decoupling network. Sonically, the Aria delivers an extraordinarily intimate, natural presentation that handles dense musical orchestrations with complete ease. The sound signature is effortlessly full-bodied and neutral, anchored by an immensely authoritative low-frequency cutoff that reaches 35 Hz without bloating the room. Instruments are sculpted across a panoramic virtual stage with three-dimensional precision, floating entirely clear of the physical enclosures.

Key Features

01

Top-mounted spectrum woofer

A top-mounted 165 mm woofer performing the specific task of regularising energy across the entire audio spectrum, drastically lowering ceiling reflections to boost musical intelligibility.

02

Dual-enclosure decoupling

The cabinet comprises two independent modules isolated by four proprietary cylindrical elastomer dampers that absorb and dissipate mechanical energy via orthogonal elongation.

03

Oversized T38 waveguide tweeter

A custom 38 mm silk dome tweeter running without ferrofluid coolants to deliver uncompromised high-frequency detailing and wide dispersion traits.

04

Crossover overlapping ranges

Replaces traditional crossover points with shared operational bands between 150 Hz to 200 Hz, and 1 kHz to 1.5 kHz, to ensure remarkably smooth driver transitions.

Chapter 01

Psychoacoustics & The Upper Woofer

While smaller towers in the Aviator range use a reversed vertical array to govern floor and ceiling reflections, the flagship Aria adds a dedicated 165 mm Rohacell woofer to the very peak of the enclosure. This strategic location regularises sound energy propagation across the vertical axis, counteracting the typical midband cancellations caused by untreated domestic room boundaries. By directing energy towards the listener rather than the ceiling, it preserves the intricate micro-details of live recordings.

Chapter 02

Decoupled Cabinet Architecture

To completely isolate the sensitive midrange and treble signals from the violent air movements of deep bass, the Aria divides its structural mass into two distinct boxes. The lower block houses dual 200 mm natural fiber subwoofers in a down-firing arrangement, while the upper block mounts the mid-high drivers. Separated by engineered elastomer puffers, this physical boundary eliminates intermodulation distortion, letting complex orchestral passages breathe with zero mechanical congestion.

Chapter 03

Listening Notes & System Integration

Boasting an extraordinary sensitivity rating of 95 dB, the Aria displays immense dynamic agility and handles low-listening levels with rare preservation of fine detail. Despite its high efficiency, its low 3.0 ohm impedance minimum and massive five-way array require an amplifier with substantial current delivery and high damping factors to fully lock down the lower registers. For an optimal three-dimensional stage, the cabinets should be placed at least 2.5 metres from a seated listener with a gentle inward toe-in.
