CIELO

An imposing architectural floorstander balancing muscular dynamic presence with profound acoustic serenity.

The Chario Cielo projects an immediate sensation of structural equilibrium and effortless mechanical authority. Rather than overwhelming a domestic interior with uncontrolled acoustic force, it utilizes rigorous geometric parameters to behave with complete composure. The substantial dual-material cabinet stands as a serious monument to technical restraint, serving an entirely functional acoustic objective. Occupying a major floorstanding position within the mid-tier Aviator series, the Cielo bridges the gap between domestic scale and full-range ambition. It adopts specialized technological concepts derived from Chario's flagship developments, deploying a 165 mm driver array that delivers deep, low-frequency headroom without necessitating custom acoustic room treatments. Sonically, the Cielo is characterised by a full-bodied, perfectly neutral presentation that creates an immediate sense of psychoacoustic relaxation. The lower octaves possess an extraordinary clarity that maps complex instrumental layerings without a trace of artificial warmth or overhang. Vocals and midband details emerge with lifelike boundaries, floating securely within a virtual stage of remarkable depth and width.

Key Features

01

Oversized T38 waveguide tweeter

A custom 38 mm soft dome tweeter that operates without ferrofluid cooling, enabling an exceptionally low 1235 Hz crossover threshold to keep phase distortion completely clear of critical vocal frequencies.

02

Full-Apex Rohacell drivers

The 165 mm midrange and low-frequency transducers are built with lightweight, highly rigid Rohacell diaphragms driven by high-grade neodymium motor assemblies for instant transient transitions.

03

Dual-woofer strategic layout

A sophisticated driver division of labor positions one low-frequency unit on the front and an additional subwoofer on the rear facade, balancing energy radiation to reduce listening fatigue.

04

Down-firing vented NRS load

A proprietary hyper-exponential lower reflex port that capitalizes on floor boundary proximity to increase bass extension while keeping internal air velocity laminar and silent.

Chapter 01

Psychoacoustics & Phase Alignment

Standard multi-way towers frequently suffer from acoustic blurring and image shifting near their crossover bands because of the physical separation between transducer centers. The Cielo addresses this vulnerability by utilizing a remarkably low 1235 Hz crossover path paired with an inverted driver configuration, anchoring the midrange unit at the highest point of the vertical plane. This exact geometry aligns soundwave arrival times with human localization thresholds, widening the sweet spot and preserving absolute phase integrity.

Chapter 02

The Sandwich Enclosure Architecture

To completely damp parasitic cabinet coloration, Chario utilizes a complex sandwich assembly method. The central body of the enclosure is machined from high-density fiberboard, which provides a rigid and mechanically dead structural core. Massive outer planks of solid Mediterranean walnut are then fused to the sides, creating a high-mass, multi-density housing that neutralizes mechanical panel vibrations before they can interfere with the energy pattern of the drivers.

Chapter 03

Listening Notes & System Integration

Benefiting from its downward-firing port design, the Cielo integrates into normal domestic living rooms with far greater predictability than conventional rear-ported towers, showing minimal sensitivity to close boundary walls. While its high 92 dB efficiency allows compatibility with moderate amplification, its low 3.6 ohm impedance minimum ensures it performs with optimum control when paired with an amplifier featuring a robust power supply. A slight inward toe-in directly toward the listening position locks down a panoramic, beautifully layered stereo image.
