Stogi Ref

A reference-grade gimbal-bearing tonearm engineered for absolute structural rigidity.

The Stogi Reference represents the culmination of Kuzma’s efforts to perfect the gimbal-bearing tonearm. By refining the tolerances of its bearing system and increasing the rigidity of the arm structure, this model effectively eliminates the mechanical colorations that hinder standard designs. Positioned at the top of the Stogi gimbal range, the Reference model serves as the primary alternative to the brand's more complex air-bearing or 4Point designs. It is intended for the listener who prefers the familiar operation and absolute consistency of a high-mass, gimballed system. Sonically, the Stogi Reference is characterized by its remarkable poise and neutrality. It provides a clean, fast, and highly detailed presentation, with excellent extension at both frequency extremes and a rock-solid soundstage that remains coherent under the most demanding conditions.

Key Features

01

Precision gimbal bearings

High-specification, low-friction bearings offer superior stability and tracking accuracy compared to standard models.

02

Solid aluminium arm tube

A refined, thick-walled aluminium arm tube provides excellent rigidity and internal damping to minimise resonances.

03

Advanced damping system

Utilises proprietary damping materials to manage energy drainage and maintain a neutral signal path.

Engineering Precision

Chapter 01

Engineering Precision

The Reference design focuses on the absolute minimization of bearing play. Every mechanical junction is engineered to be as rigid as possible, ensuring that the energy produced by the cartridge is directed into the tonearm rather than lost to flex or vibration.
Build Quality

Chapter 02

Build Quality

Constructed from high-grade aluminium and brass, the arm boasts a heavy, inert structure that provides a stable anchor for the most sensitive moving-coil cartridges. The mounting base is designed for maximum coupling to the turntable platter system.
Sonic Presentation

Chapter 03

Sonic Presentation

The Reference is celebrated for its ability to reveal fine low-level detail without introducing brightness or edge. It offers a punchy, controlled bass response and a midrange that is both transparent and harmonically complete.
