Stabi SD 9 & 12 Inch

Dual-tonearm versatility meets the legendary stability of solid brass engineering.

The Stabi SD takes the acclaimed performance of the Stabi S and expands its capabilities, allowing the listener to mount two tonearms simultaneously. By replacing the standard T-beam with an extended, heavier version, Kuzma has created a platform that not only supports dual-arm configurations but also increases the overall mass of the system for even greater inertial stability. At the heart of the Stabi SD is the iconic Kuzma commitment to mechanical simplicity. The chassis is constructed from 50mm solid brass rods, forming a T-shaped structure that provides a direct, low-resonance path between the bearing and tonearm support. By eliminating flat surfaces that are prone to ringing, this design ensures that the energy of the vinyl groove is captured with absolute purity and minimal colouration. Beyond its structural integrity, the Stabi SD offers a level of sonic poise that remains remarkably consistent. The increased mass contributes to a tighter, more authoritative bass response and a deeper, more holographic soundstage. For the serious audiophile, it provides the perfect environment to compare different cartridge profiles or tonearm geometries with total convenience, all while maintaining the high-resolution performance expected from the Kuzma catalogue.

Key Features

01

Dual tonearm capability

Extended T-beam chassis allows for the installation of two 9-inch or 12-inch tonearms simultaneously.

02

Solid brass rod construction

Provides an extremely rigid, non-resonant foundation that eliminates vibration transmission.

03

Isolated motor tower

Independent motor housing dampens mechanical vibration, ensuring perfectly consistent platter rotation.

04

High-mass stability

The increased mass of the extended T-beam enhances speed stability and improves overall resolution.

Design & Philosophy

Chapter 01

Design & Philosophy

The Stabi SD is built on the belief that the most effective way to manage resonance is to avoid flat, plate-like structures entirely. By using high-density brass rods, Kuzma creates a mechanical ground that is immune to the environmental vibrations that typically cloud the delicate phono signal. This uncompromising focus on geometry and material density allows the turntable to perform with a transparency that larger, more complex designs often struggle to achieve.
Build & Materials

Chapter 02

Build & Materials

The craftsmanship behind the Stabi SD is defined by precision and longevity. The platter is a highly stable aluminium component damped with an internal rubber insert, while the bearing uses a one-point contact system with a unique resin/textile sleeve to ensure near-zero friction and exceptional damping. Every element is meticulously finished to ensure that the physical build matches the technical ambition of the design.
Sonic Signature

Chapter 03

Sonic Signature

The sonic signature is one of remarkable clarity and rhythmic control. It presents music with a focused, tight image that feels grounded and tonally neutral. Because the design suppresses resonance so effectively, listeners often notice a 'blacker' background, which allows micro-details and transient nuances to emerge from the silence with lifelike realism.
