PRO 60 MkI Active Sub Bass System
Controlled, articulate sub-bass performance in a remarkably compact form.
The PRO 60 MkI serves as an accomplished entry into the MJ Acoustics PRO series, designed for those who recognise that true sub-bass performance is measured by accuracy rather than sheer volume. Its compact profile hides a serious engineering effort, providing the depth and scale required to elevate both music and cinema experiences without dominating the living space.
At its heart, the system employs a custom 300mm down-firing driver, mounted within a rigid, braced cabinet constructed from 18mm high-density fibreboard. Powered by a 150-watt linear Class A/B MOSFET amplifier, the design ensures that transient peaks are handled with speed and precision, avoiding the artificial overhang that often plagues entry-level subwoofers.
Functionality is paramount, with dedicated high-level and line-level inputs allowing for independent gain and crossover adjustments. This versatility enables the PRO 60 MkI to integrate perfectly into both stereo and home theatre setups, ensuring that the subwoofer acts as a seamless extension of the main speakers rather than a detached source of sound.
Key Features
01
300mm Long-Throw Driver
The down-firing 300mm driver features a heavy-duty chassis and dual-magnet assembly for high-amplitude, low-distortion output.
02
Twin Independent Inputs
Separate high-level Neutrik and low-level RCA inputs with individual gain and filter settings allow for simultaneous connection to stereo and AV systems.
03
Intelligent Speaker Protection
A CPU-monitored I.S.P. system constantly analyses the input signal to ensure the driver operates within safe parameters during demanding passages.
Chapter 01
Engineering Philosophy
The PRO 60 MkI is built upon the principle of transparency. By focusing on mechanical rigidity and an analogue signal path, it ensures that low-frequency output is phase-coherent with the main speakers, preserving the imaging and timing of the original performance.
Chapter 02
Build Quality
The enclosure is engineered from 18mm MDF with internal bracing to suppress cabinet colouration. This inert foundation allows the driver to move freely, translating high-pressure internal movements into clean, articulate sound that remains composed at any volume.
Chapter 03
Listening Notes
This subwoofer is celebrated for its musicality. Rather than providing a one-note boom, it reveals the subtle textures of acoustic instruments and the visceral weight of cinematic scores, providing a cohesive, authoritative foundation that makes your audio system feel complete.
