Kensington

Master class engineering delivering profound, articulate sub-bass in a refined form.

The Kensington represents the pinnacle of the MJ Acoustics Master Class series, embodying a relentless pursuit of sonic perfection. Hand-built by skilled technicians in our UK factory, this flagship model serves as a testament to the belief that sub-bass should be felt as a natural, seamless extension of the main soundstage, rather than a separate auditory event. At its core, the Kensington utilises two 250mm ultra long-throw drivers, precisely matched and powered by a dual-amplifier configuration. This design allows the system to handle the most complex low-frequency transients with effortless agility, ensuring that even the most subtle textures in a recording are preserved without a trace of artificial overhang or latency. Every aspect of the Kensington has been meticulously considered, from the high-capacity reservoir power supplies to the vibration-damping MDF cabinet finished in luxury real wood veneers. Topped with a toughened, mirror-finished glass mantel, the aesthetics match the exceptional build quality within, creating a statement piece that offers both visual elegance and unparalleled acoustic performance.

Chapter 01

Engineering Philosophy

The Master Class philosophy is defined by a refusal to compromise on signal purity. By incorporating D.I.P. (Dynamic Intelligent Protection) and independent toroidal power supplies, the Kensington ensures the signal remains untouched by the phase errors or digital artefacts common in mass-produced subwoofers.

Chapter 02

Build and Materials

Each cabinet is constructed from acoustically inert, 18mm and 25mm thick MDF and lined with specialised wadding to eliminate internal colouration. The unit sits upon a 36mm solid isolation plinth, providing the foundation necessary to translate high-pressure internal movements into clean, articulate sound.

Chapter 03

Sonic Signature

The Kensington is characterised by its ability to resolve the most demanding low-frequency passages with total composure. It is a disciplined performer that offers exceptional transient speed and a deep, room-filling authority, making it the definitive choice for those who demand ultimate realism from their audio system.
