V383 MK2 tube phono stage
Pure vacuum tube amplification for authentic, holographic analog playback.
The V383 MK2 represents the refined fifth generation of the Remton Audio V383 line, meticulously designed to extract the most delicate textures from any vinyl record. By employing a minimalist, zero-feedback vacuum tube architecture, it preserves the natural harmonic structure and timing of the original performance, ensuring an engaging and authentic listening experience.
Positioned as an accessible yet high-performance centerpiece for serious systems, this model excels in its ability to support a vast array of cartridge types, including MM, MI, and MC designs. Its internal high-quality step-up transformers ensure that moving coil signals are handled with the same care and clarity as moving magnet cartridges.
The sonic character of the V383 MK2 is defined by its palpable, organic warmth and impressive soundstage dimensionality. It avoids the analytical coldness of many modern solid-state designs, instead rendering music with a rich, holographic quality that invites long, fatigue-free listening sessions. It is an instrument designed for those who value musical expression and emotional weight above all else.
Key Features
01
Zero negative feedback
The circuit design eliminates global feedback to preserve the natural harmonic structure and timing of the musical signal.
02
Passive RIAA equalisation
This implementation ensures superior phase response and avoids the sonic degradation inherent in active filtering stages.
03
Precision cartridge loading
Extensive adjustable settings for input impedance and capacitance allow for perfect matching with a wide range of moving magnet and moving coil cartridges.
04
Soft-start power supply
The high-voltage supply is engineered to protect the vacuum tubes during power-on, ensuring consistent performance and long-term reliability.

Chapter 01
Engineering Philosophy
Designed by Alexander Remmer and handcrafted in the Czech Republic, the V383 MK2 adheres to the principle that simplicity is the key to musicality. By utilising a matched complement of JJ ECC83S tubes and removing unnecessary stages, the design achieves an exceptionally low noise floor while maintaining high gain. Every internal component is hand-selected to ensure channel symmetry and long-term stability.

Chapter 02
Manufacturing and Build
The unit is built into a robust steel chassis, finished to provide excellent shielding against electromagnetic interference. A dedicated toroidal power transformer provides a clean, stable energy source, effectively decoupling the sensitive tube circuitry from mains fluctuations. The gold-plated input and output terminals further ensure signal integrity for years of reliable use.

Chapter 03
Listening Notes
The V383 MK2 is frequently praised for its ability to project a large, deep soundstage that extends beyond the speakers. It brings an intense, vibrant quality to the midrange and treble, softening the harsh attack of digital-sounding pressings while retaining full detail. Whether playing mono jazz records or complex modern symphonies, it produces a big, palpable sound that is both unobtrusive and highly involving.
