M-3X

The definitive reference monoblock, engineered for limitless current and temporal purity.

A masterclass in high-end audio engineering, the M-3X serves as the absolute zenith of the Soulnote power amplification range. While maintaining the legendary non-negative feedback, single-function purity of its predecessor, the M-3X integrates a sophisticated parallel push-pull output stage. This enhancement provides double the current capacity, ensuring that even the most complex impedance loads are managed with rock-solid stability and profound dynamic scale. At its heart lies a newly developed, highly precise transistor pairing method. By calculating the Euclidean distance for hFE fluctuations across multiple current values, Soulnote has successfully created a parallel output stage that functions with the temporal coherence of a single push-pull configuration. This technological breakthrough allows the amplifier to exert immense control over the loudspeaker without introducing the blurring or phase distortion typically associated with multi-transistor designs. Every aspect of the construction is dedicated to the elimination of noise and mechanical resonance. From the 1600 VA non-epoxy toroidal transformer suspended on titanium washers, to the isolated copper-plate heat sinks that double as high-current bus bars, the M-3X is built as a transparent conduit for music. It presents a soundscape defined by extreme speed, holographic imaging, and an organic richness that renders the equipment itself invisible, leaving only the reality of the performance.

Key Features

01

Parallel Push-Pull Darlington Stage

Features an enhanced four-stage Darlington configuration with precision-paired industrial TO3 metal-can transistors for double the current capacity.

02

Type-R Non-NFB Circuitry

Employs a proprietary non-negative feedback differential circuit in the voltage amplification stage, utilising only four transistors for total signal purity.

03

Copper Bus Bar Heat Sinks

Utilises small, lightweight copper plates as both heat sinks and high-current bus bars, eliminating internal wiring and parasitic inductance.

04

Mechanically Isolated Architecture

The entire internal assembly is decoupled from the chassis via spikes and titanium washers, ensuring a vibration-free environment for the signal path.

The Engineering Story

Chapter 01

The Engineering Story

The M-3X was born from the desire to overcome the current limitations of traditional single push-pull amplifiers without compromising their inherent musicality. By developing a revolutionary transistor pairing method, Hideki Kato and his team managed to parallelise the output stage while maintaining the exact timing alignment of a single push-pull design. This achievement represents a fundamental shift in how high-current amplification is perceived, bridging the gap between delicate micro-detail and absolute raw power.
Vibration Management

Chapter 02

Vibration Management

In the M-3X, rigidity is the enemy. Every major component—the transformer, the amplifier boards, and the terminals—is mounted in a non-rigid, floating configuration. The amplifier sits on its own wooden base, and internal components are intentionally left unconstrained to shed resonant energy into the environment. This intentional lack of fixation is what allows the M-3X to produce such a remarkably open and 'breathing' soundstage.
Sonic Character

Chapter 03

Sonic Character

The M-3X is defined by a total absence of an imposed sonic signature. It is exceptionally fast and tactile, revealing the texture of instruments with startling clarity. Unlike high-power amplifiers that rely on heavy damping or feedback to force compliance, the M-3X relies on sheer speed and current overhead, resulting in a presentation that is both physically authoritative and remarkably refined at low volumes.
