Phono cartridges produce incredibly delicate micro-volt signals that are highly susceptible to noise and degradation. To combat this, Talos units employ a true balanced differential input stage using E280F super tubes loaded with custom mumetal transformers. This complex topology perfectly cancels common-mode noise, allowing the delicate analogue signal to be amplified with astonishing purity and an exceptionally low noise floor. Equalisation is handled by a proprietary, constant-impedance Double-T LCR RIAA circuit, driven by a dedicated miniature single-ended triode amplifier. Supported by massive, externally housed tube-rectified power supplies to ensure complete magnetic isolation, the Talos is not built for convenience or space-saving.
