Talos Reference
The definitive two-chassis reference for uncompromised analogue playback.
Retrieving the micro-volt signals from a vinyl groove without compromising their inherent energy is the ultimate challenge in analogue audio. The Talos Reference was born from this exact pursuit, discarding traditional discrete and hybrid topologies in favour of a custom, three-stage, all-tube architecture designed to preserve every detail of the original recording.
Sitting securely at the core of the Talos lineage, this two-chassis system bridges the gap between the brand's Prestige series and their absolute flagship models. It physically separates its massive power supplies into a dedicated enclosure to maintain complete magnetic isolation, ensuring the delicate signal path remains entirely free from mains-borne interference and mechanical vibration.
In operation, the Talos Reference possesses a profound sense of scale and spatial accuracy. It renders analogue recordings with an astonishingly quiet background, allowing the natural harmonics and micro-dynamics of the performance to breathe with absolute authority, tonal density, and realism.
Key Features
01
Constant-Impedance LCR RIAA
Utilises highly transparent Double-T LCR filters driven by a dedicated miniature SET amplifier to maintain accurate and dynamic equalisation.
02
Differential SUT Input
Equipped with internally balanced Step Up Transformers that cancel common-mode noise for an incredibly silent background.
03
Transformer-Coupled Triode Output
Employs an E280F super tube and a step-down transformer to provide low output impedance and complete galvanic isolation.
04
Bespoke External Loading
Rejects restrictive internal presets in favour of custom, made-to-order external loading modules tailored perfectly to the user's specific cartridge portfolio.

Chapter 01
Engineering Approach
Aries Cerat rejected operational amplifiers and discrete JFET implementations for this cost-no-object design. Following extensive testing, they determined that only a meticulously designed, all-tube, transformer-coupled topology could deliver the detail and musical flow demanded by an absolute top-tier system.

Chapter 02
Three-Stage Topology
The phono stage is divided into three distinct sub-systems. The crucial input stage amplifies the delicate cartridge signal whilst heavily rejecting electro-mechanical noise. This feeds the constant-impedance LCR RIAA network, before passing to the output stage which delivers massive current and voltage swing to drive any subsequent preamplifier effortlessly.

Chapter 03
Power & Isolation
To preserve the microscopic voltages of the analogue signal, all mains transformers and high-current power supplies are banished to a separate matching chassis. Local capacitor banks reside in the main unit, providing immediate decoupling and an exceptionally silent electrical environment for the tubes to operate within.
